A manual blood pressure machine, also known as a sphygmomanometer, is a medical device used to measure blood pressure. It consists of an inflatable cuff, a pressure gauge, and a stethoscope. To use it, the cuff is wrapped around the upper arm and inflated manually using a rubber bulb. The healthcare provider then listens to the blood flow sounds in the brachial artery using the stethoscope while slowly releasing the pressure in the cuff. The systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings are determined based on the sounds heard through the stethoscope and the pressure indicated on the gauge. Manual blood pressure machines are commonly used in medical settings due to their accuracy and reliability.
